What We've Been Up To

Whew.  We're nearly four weeks into summer break.  We have been quite busy (especially me, who now has four little girls to feed and entertain ALL DAY LONG).  I thought I'd post some of our adventures:

We've been to Mars . . .

and the moon . . .

TWICE.

We've run through the fountains (lots of times) . . .

We've visited Aunt Katie downtown on her lunch break . . .

And then we helped her move into her beautiful new apartment . . .

It was kind of exhausting!

We've been to a copper mine . . .

We've taken to picnic-ing in the park at least once a week . . .

We've swung on porch swings. . .

and made a rock garden (in a rather unfortunate spot) . . .

We've gone to the circus (aka the most incredible birthday party I've ever attended--Bravo, Liz and Chris!) . . .

These are HOMEMADE corndogs.  The best I've ever eaten in my 32 years on earth!

We've plugged in . . .

and unplugged . . .

We've built forts and played school.  We've practiced writing our numbers/letters and worked in our workbooks.  We've gone swimming and run through the sprinklers (we've even done a slip an slide!).  We've done playgroups and playdates (and even the old fashioned spontaneous play with the neighbors outside).  We've baked cookies and brownies and cupcakes and banana bars.  We've been to the library and the bookstores.  We've painted and colored and glued and beaded.  We've been to parties and gatherings and barbecues and pancake breakfasts.  We've applied at least one and a half bottles of sunscreen.  We've ridden bikes and skinned our knees.  We've gone for ice cream (Rolo McFlurries = Yum!) and seen fireworks.  We've fallen in love with taking Trax.  We've gone on walks and nature hikes.  We've played barbies and hopscotch and hula hooped.  We've played dress up and pretend.  We've read and read and read.  We've watched movies and cartoons and eaten loads of popcorn.  We've visited and been visited. We've been nibbled by mosquitos and spotted butterflies.  We've gazed at clouds and stars.  We've laughed and cried.  And fought and fought and fought.

All that and we still have six solid weeks of summer to go . . .

Ideas on what to do next?

  1. Visit Aunt Laura. You should come on a Saturday morning and come to Farmers Market with me! Yummy breakfasts and lots of fun crafts to look at.

  2. Wow, you must have a lot of energy to have done all of that! I got exhausted just reading about it. I'll have to tell Chris you enjoyed his corn dogs. Thanks for coming to our little party, we just like to entertain! As far as the rest of the summer, take them up to Park City and hit the alpine slide, and then grab a caramel apple. Then take a nap!
