Working Girl

About a week and a half ago, Miss Piper had her first paying gig as an actress. I should have known this was coming. The girl was born in LA, after all. And she's terribly glamorous (see photo above). Plus, she's got great connections. So yeah, this foray into acting makes sense.

Carter's company (Imagine Learning, Inc) has been working on a new marketing campaign to help schools see that spending their stimulus dollars on this ingenious computer program is a great idea. As part of this campaign, they produced some promotional videos--little humorous sketches with the theme of "stimulating minds." Anyway, a couple of scripts called for a 3-year-old girl. Carter mentioned that he knew a really cute one, and just as easy as that, Piper had the part.

So, on a Friday earlier this month, Piper went off to work with Daddy (Chloe was terribly jealous and wondered why they didn't need 6-year-olds. Or, if they needed 3-year-olds, why didn't they need them when she was 3?). Piper spent the whole day shooting scenes for two different videos. Carter said she was very cooperative (since one required her to eat a chocolate muffin take after take, I could see how she would be down with that). She only cried once, at the end of the day, when they asked her to say a line. I can't blame her. If anyone asks me to do something at the end of the day, I just about burst into tears, too.

Yup, my 3-year-old has now out-earned me in the 2009 fiscal year. We told her she could buy a surprise with her money. She wants a pretty dress. Anyway, here is one of the completed videos for you to enjoy:
